Inheritance tax planningCowbridge's historic high street and Llantwit Major's old town and coastline sit at the heart of the rural Vale of Glamorgan, surrounded by farms and small villages such as Peterston-super-Ely and St Nicholas. Homes here often come with land, outbuildings or a family farm, and that can make a will more involved. PJH Estate Planning visits families across the Vale in the comfort of their own home, or you are welcome to meet us at our offices.
Rural estates often raise questions a standard will does not answer. We take the time to understand your property and your family, and explain your options in plain English.
We visit homes, farms and villages across the Vale, from Cowbridge and Llantwit Major to Peterston-super-Ely and St Nicholas.
We make sure your will deals clearly with land and buildings, and with who should carry on running them.
Trust provisions can help make sure land or your share of the home passes to the next generation as you intend.
Choose the people who can manage your money and health decisions, while the choice is still yours.
We explain how the current allowances and reliefs apply to your estate, and draft your will to suit.
Fees are agreed in writing before any work starts, with the same adviser from first meeting to signing.

Get in TouchYes. We meet clients at our offices or in the comfort of their own homes throughout Cowbridge, Llantwit Major, Peterston-super-Ely, St Nicholas and the surrounding villages and farms.
Our single wills start from £150 and mirror wills for couples from £250. If your will needs trust provisions, we will quote a fixed fee in writing before any work begins.
It can be. Your will needs to say clearly who inherits the land, the farmhouse and any business, and how other children are treated. Some Inheritance Tax reliefs may apply to agricultural or business property, and the rules have recently changed. We will explain how the current rules apply to your estate.
There are several ways. Some families leave the farm to one child and other assets to the others, while others use a trust or ask the farming child to pay a share to the others over time. We will explain the options so that you can choose what feels right for your family.
If you lose capacity without a Lasting Power of Attorney, your family may have to apply to the Court of Protection before they can deal with your bank accounts or property, which can take months. An LPA lets you choose who can act for you, and we can arrange it at the same time as your will.
