What our Hampshire & Dorset clients say

“Katrina put together a complete plan, will, LPA and shareholder considerations, and explained every part of it clearly.

I feel a huge amount better knowing it’s all in place.”

Why Choose a Local Estate Planning Specialist?

We are not a national company processing your estate plan through a call centre. When you work with PJH Estate Planning, you deal with the same adviser from your first conversation to the day your documents are signed.

We meet you at our offices or in your own home, at a time that suits you, and take as long as is needed to understand your full situation before recommending anything. That is the kind of personal service that national firms cannot provide.

Hampshire & Dorset: FAQ

Planning your estate in Hampshire or Dorset? Here are answers to the questions local families ask us most often. From home visits and how long things take to protecting your home.

Get in Touch

Yes. We offer home visits throughout Hampshire and Dorset at no extra charge, or you are welcome to visit us at our offices. If it suits you better, we also offer video consultations.

We help Hampshire and Dorset families with Wills, Trusts to protect your children's inheritance, and Inheritance Tax planning, so more of what you've built up passes to the people you choose.

It can be. House prices in much of Hampshire and Dorset are above the national average, so a family home plus savings can easily take an estate past the £325,000 tax-free threshold. Anything above the available allowances can be taxed at 40%, but with the right planning that bill can often be reduced.

We typically turn around a draft Will within 7–10 working days of your consultation, depending on complexity. Once you're happy with it, we'll guide you through signing and witnessing so it's legally valid.

Not just because you've moved: a valid Will made in England stays valid wherever you live in England. It's still worth reviewing, though, especially if you've bought a new home, married, had children or your circumstances have changed. Marriage, for example, usually cancels an existing Will.
